Catholic Evangelization through Media

According to the Statistical Abstract of the United States American adults spend the majority of their waking hours consuming media, often while doing something else. Catholics should win a larger portion of that media time to spread the faith to others and deepen our own. I have a web site on Geocities that is dedicated to winning that larger share.

As these pages are on Geocities they have ads. The banking ads are fine, those on movies are not too bad, but I would prefer not to have them on a religion page. If they bother you, you can click the black triangle in the upper right hand corner to make them go away.

I have links on my web sites to web sites with ideas on getting better AM radio reception. Those web sites are sometimes run by people who are not orthodox Catholics, for example talk show hosts. The links are for the sake of providing Catholics with the information they need to bring in EWTN. No endorsement of the talk show hosts opinions is implied.

So far the Catholic directories have not added my pages. Perhaps they were not impressed. But perhaps, I have broken their rules by linking to web sites that run by people who are not orthodox Catholics. Note again, I gave the links so people could learn tips for better AM radio reception. I hope that some of the Catholic directories will put in a link to this page so that properly warned you may proceed to the Geocities page. So with all warnings given here are some links to the most important pages
on the geocities site. This is the index page on using the media for Catholic evangelization.

The geocities web site also provides tips and links on how to bring in Catholic AM radio signals, which are often weak. This page is getting about 30 thousand hits a year a present rates.

Because the web site provides AM reception tips it has been linked to byImmaculate Heart Radio which provides Catholic Radio for Sacramento, Stockton, Fresno, and Reno,
Sacred Heart Radio, AM-1050, KBLE, Catholic Radio for the Seattle and Puget Sound area,
and
Ave Maria Radio, Catholic radio for Ann Arbor and Detroit at 990 AM, WDEO, and Bay City, Saginaw, and Midland at 1440 AM, WMAX.

The web site also provides ideas on how to get libraries to add Catholic books to their collections. This page has been recommended by Father Richard Neuhaus, and The National Catholic Register.

Other pages include an article on vouchers I published in the New Oxford Review, an article on the empty Hell controversy that I failed to publish in the New Oxford Review, and some popular pages on religion membership statistics.

I also have two secular web page I would like to mention Fish bowls, and a web site on public access to the web and free comics in Davis, California.

I have created a second page on this site to cover my plans to develop the web site.

I have noticed that the web pages on Catholicweb.com are loading much faster now, but probably not nearly as fast as Geocities. So I have to decide, do I make the move. I can not tell how fast I load on 56k machines because I do not have access to one. So I thought I would ask you the users what is most important to you. Faster loading time, but with the ads on Geocities or slower loading time and without the ads here on catholicweb.com. You can leave a note in my geocities guest book.
